President Bush recently requested another $70 billion to fund the campaign in Iraq. Was Saddam a monster? Were there WMDs? Links to Al-Qaeda? Was it all about oil…? All excellent questions, but isn’t the question - Can’t $70 billion be better spent?

I don’t know about you but I like to fritter my hard-earned cash away on little luxuries like, oh, I don’t know, food, shelter, heating… So thanks to this voracious ‘shopping’ addiction of mine, it’s possible I’ll never see $70 billion in my bank account.

Of course, it might be different for you - the average wage in the U.S. is around $40,000 so you could see $70 billion in your account in just 1.75 million years.

Still, just in case you retire before you hit that landmark, here’s what $70 billion actually looks like - $70,000,000,000.00

Yep, that’s a whole lot of zeroes!

So, back to ‘the’ question - what could you spend all those zeros on if not on killing people?

    Hi Michael,

I know you as an interent marketer and info seller and I was just watching your video on the eBay terapeak research tool. that’s all fine and good, but rarely do I read any of these, make tons of money now get rich quick on the Internet guys talk about social issues or even allude to being socially conscious at all. So thank you.

Actually all this money hungry attitude you see online with people selling and making money, there’s actually an attitude about “screw the poor” and if a goverenment cuts taxes so they can keep more money that’s great and if the same goverenment kills hundreds of thousands of people for no reason, that’s fine too just don’t raise taxes and cut into my material being any. A lot of these peope who sell, this is how you do it material, also have this attitude and makes them very heartless but hey they make money and that’s all that matters to some people - so this attitude among people with money who drive countries is a big part of why this happens so I hope that more business people realize that doing business ethically is what matters and all these schemes have a cost if hidden or far away from those who promote them.

Not only is making money a good thing to learn but being socially conscious about it, too. The title to this bloag entry got me going so I had to check it out, glad to see you meant the opposite of what I thought, thanks again. And screw people who just care about their temporal desires and short sighted ideas.
