Hi,
Well, I never wanted to be the one to bring you bad news - sorry, I have no choice - but after you hear about this, you’ll see it as an advanced warning of a new wave of “Buy this from me and I’ll give you my life” type of emails that are heading your way…..
How do I know this?
Well, today, an email dropped in to my spam folder which caught my eye. I’m not going to name any names again but I’ll share with you some of the parts of that email below, just so you get an idea of what’s coming to your inbox soon…..
In fact, I wouldn’t be too surprised if a copy of this had already hit your inbox……..
First of all, in this email, I am told some ‘great’ news (maybe in the eyes of the marketer) but was this exciting news relevant to me?
Was this news going to be of use to me in my online business?
Was this great news actually going to be of any importance, relevance or even interest to me in any way what-so-ever?
NO!!!
In fact, it just left me asking myself the question…..
“And yeah, why would I be in the slightest bit interested in knowing what happened in your life” (in fact this was related to someone in his family).
Just that section of the email wasted my time, reading about something that was totally unrelated to the subject of the the rest of the email.
In fact, when I joined this persons list, if I had read somewhere that the marketer may send me emails to tell me how his family are, do you think I would have joined the list. Would you have joined it?
Anyway…..
After the first pointless part of the email was over I was then told about…… Ready?……..
YEP, you guessed it……. Another forthcoming product launch and surprise - surprise NOT - the product is that of another marketer!!!
So, here we have a marketer sending emails telling us that they are going to be promoting someone else’s product next week!!! Is there no end to this madness?
First there is the time wasting session while I am told about his family and then there is the waste of time session that is telling me that they will be promoting a new product soon.
So, here’s the big question,……
“Why did this marketer decide to email me to tell me that he will be emailing me soon to tell be about someone else’s product”?
YEP, you guessed it again…. BONUS TIME….. but hang on, this gets much worse because, “Was I told about the actual bonus” ?
NOPE!!!!
And why not?…….
Because the marketer hasn’t even decided on the bonus he will be throwing together in the hope of getting me to buy someone else’s product yet.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and this is now taking it way too far. The only action I can think of taking (without wasting more of my time emailing the marketer with my opinion just to have the email deleted) is to unsubscribe from this mailing list and the next one and the next one and the next one.
Let me ask you this…
“What do you think these marketers would do if they woke up tomorrow and found that every single person on their mailing list had opted out”?
“Who would they mail their offers to”? “How would they continue to boast about the four figure emails”?
Simple, they wouldn’t. They would be screwed and screwed big time. YOU are the reason they are where they are and have made the sales that they have made because you have bought their product and offers but let me ask you this….
“Where are you in return”?
You are probably like me, still sat there, reading one crap - time wasting - money sucking - crap email after another - hitting the delete button. This just isn’t right and I am ashamed to call myself an internet marketer.
This isn’t internet marketing - this is a relentless barrage of attempts to get as much money out of your pocket as possible, even when there is none left, but it’s ok, you can get out your trusty credit card and give them every penny you have on that too!!!!
Look, don’t get me wrong, I will never tell you to do something simply because it is my point of view - I’m not going to tell you NOT to buy another product or NOT to read another email - I’m NOT going to tell you to unsubscribe from every email list you are on - you DON’T need me telling you what to do….
You are an intelligent human being who is perfectly capable of thinking for yourself and deciding for yourself what you want and what you don’t want
- remember, it’s your email inbox -
and you choose who you want to receive email from. Allowing someone to send you emails at their will is a privilege for THEM which is something that seems to have been forgotten by 98% of the ’so called’ big name marketers.
What a massive - massive - shame……

I am soooo grateful there are others willing to speak up against this. I for one am completely embarrassed and fed up too! Yet if you bring this up on any of the forums you get bullied, criticised & bagged.
Needless to say I have unsubscribed from many lists of late (even “master” gurus!) and can honestly say you are one of the 4 only that I respect and have no intention of unsubscribing from.
I encourage you to please continue to stay true to yourself and your subscribers. Let’s not forget where we came from and how we started out!
Thanks for your integrity & honesty.

This whole subject has become a major problem with Internet Marketing people.
You are absolutely right with your posts and comments. Far too much rubbish and so-called promotions, offers and last chances are swilling around in our inboxes.
One other point which bothers me is once you get on a list you have one hell of a job unsubscribing. You generally find, after a couple of months of not hearing from the offender you mysteriously appear on their list again. This is particularly so if you have purchesed anything from them.
On Tuesday 13/3/07 I purchased a product, which I was well satisfied with, but every day since that I have received another email promoting this product which I have already bought. A complete waste of time.
I agree with you, unsubscribe is a definate and correct action and if your name appears on their list again just unsubscribe again. I have had to do this several times and will continue to do so.
