I’m never ever smug about anything but right now - if you’ve followed my last couple of emails that I sent to you - I can’t help saying, “See, told you so” or “This proves my point”…..
The reason I turned this into a blog post is because if I had tried to send you this as an email I doubt it would have even reached you because of the spam filters.
Ok, for the past few days, it seems everyone is in agreement that they are hacked off with the constant barrage of “Buy this persons product from me and I’ll give you my left kidney because I wanna be the one that sells the most copies of this product so I can bask in the glory of being a hero in my own mind and I don’t care if the product is right for you - just buy it so I can be a hero”.
And today - with the barrage of emails I have gotten so far - seems to prove this point in full. It’ll be interesting to see how many of the same emails you received which is why I am posting the ones I have so far below. In respect, I have removed the name of the product, the product owners name and the name of the marketer who sent me the email but I am sure you will recognize it if you have received it too.
Also, one of the biggest benefits of puttin all of this in a blog post is so that you can leave your own thoughts and comments too. In fact, I strongly encourage you to post your feedback and share with everyone else how you feel
Right now you just have my word that everyone else is saying they are pissed off - so come on - share YOUR thoughts with everyone else - show every single person that you too have had enough - just like they have.
OK, Here are just some of the emails I have had telling me to buy the same product……
=====================
“Hey Michael,
I have prepared massive bonus package for (product name withheld) for the first 40 people who get (product name) from my link.
In short some of bonuses are 49,997 fresh new opt in list, upload rights to 150 new fresh videos, autoresponder software and more.
Check all bonuses now before there are gone
Additionally I posted on bonus page sneaky video preview and surprising screenshot from search engine ranking.
Thanks
(Marketers name withheld)
P.S. I am sending this email to 276,452 people on my list but only 40 people get bonus so make it fast if you want to get it all.”
=====================
NEXT ONE……
“Hi Michael,
By now, I am sure that you are seeing a lot of marketers endorsing the brand new membership site, (product name) by (marketers name). I’d urge you NOT to purchase it… until you check out what I have to say about it here:(Link Removed)Warm Regards,(marketers name)P.S. Yes, I have something in store for you and 29 other people so find out how you can build your Online Empire starting today - right here:
(Link Removed)”
========================
OH AND ANOTHER ONE….
“Hi Michael In brief:I have 2 reasons for offering you Bonuses of $8,285 if you get (marketers name) course for $97. Click here to read the reasons and see all the Bonuses:
(Link Removed) “
============================
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH NOW…..
Did you see one of the bonuses about getting “49,997 fresh new opt in list”?
Ok, I actually got suckered in to buying a product last year because of this type of bonus. I got 50,000 fresh confirmed opt in emails which I was told I could use to create an instant online income as these people were ready to accept emails from me. The list was absolutely worthless.
In fact it was worth less than that because it was a waste of my time and effort. Nearly half of the emails bounced back due to invalid email addresses too. So what gives? Why are these ‘respected big name’ marketers giving us such a pounding with email after email, offering bonus after bonus?Simple answer: MONEY and that’s it. Just money. They think you have it and they want it from you and they don’t care what they have to offer you in so called bonuses to get you to part with it. Enough is enough isn’t it.
If you feel the same way then please feel free to share your comments with everyone else who reads this blog. Don’t be afraid, say exactly what you want, speak out, speak free. If you’re pissed off with it then say “I’m pissed off”. I will moderate very rude language so please keep in mind the level of your frankness when you post your comments. So, what are your feelings about the emails you have received about this offer and others?……

I got the AVRiches Report several days ago and IMHO if anyone was interested in climbing aboard when Jason was scheduled to open his site, they would have made a note of the Launch date and jumped aboard. Why is it that we have to get email upon email from all the Parrots out there on the Internet? As I recall Josh Anderson and Russel Brunson were pioneers, so to speak, in this technology prior to Jason James even coming along with his new little gizmo site.

Hi Michael,
First, let me say that I sent an email to my list lastnight, briefly mentioning the launch today. But the email covered much more.
I like to keep everyone updated on changes.
I can personally say that Jason is one of the ‘good’ guys, I’ve worked
with him before.
The thing that gets me though, just like you is the ‘mass’ amount of
buy it from me, look at what I’ll give you emails.
One marketer, whose name I won’t mention is giving away one of
his subscriber lists. If you stop to think for a moment, why? Because
it’s of no use to him anymore. You can bet that he has kept the profitable one for himself.
That’s my two cents worth Michael

WOW! I am floored by the amount of emails re the latest Audio/Video product.
I think the product is excellent but I think the marketer has missed the boat. Why he didn’t just launch himself…twice the money and twice the respect.
Truly am fed up with the hype and today will start to unsubscribe from many lists.

It’s the “Nature of the Beast”.
There is a silver lining though, with all the email referring to the same thing, it makes it easy to clean out my inbox.
Oh Wait! If you deleted your link to the Audio Video thing
Click Here to Buy it now http://just kidding.

Hi everyone.
We are the authors of our own problems here, as we all subscribed to these lists, perhaps hoping to get something free or low cost, out of it.
IMHO these lists are little more than voluntary SPAM, as the content is repetitive and often less than honest. The massive egos, rude slangy patois etc, are all symptomatic of some authors’ responses to our collective need to receive these missives.
Lets us all vote with our opt outs, and sit here with empty mail boxes until something sensible happens, which of course probably won’t happen. Let’s face it, making easy money via adwords, adsense, or other magical method just cannot be true ( or can it??? and will I miss out on something big if I don’t read the next letter, damn it I think I must be addicted…………………..)

Hi Michael,
As I am just learning about Internet Marketing, I was under the impression that when I signed up to receive valuable information and sometimes, special offers that these would be every now and then.
However, over the past few weeks I have been bombarded on a daily basis with various sales pitches. It is just like walking into a store and being confronted with numerous pushy sales people.
Although I do receive the odd piece of valuable information and sometimes a good piece of software, the majority are just selling stuff that has either been re-hashed or fails to stand up to the sales pitch. They tell me what I should have but fail to tell me how to do it.
As soon as I am able to make a start on Internet Marketing and request people to opt-in, I certainly intend to do things in a more user friendly manner. I prefer to be more of an asset rather than a potential liability.
Thank You
Brian

I must agree this is all so tiresome. I just wish that some of these obviously able people who have built up substantial lists would put their efforts into promoting in other niches where the recipients have not seen all the tactics before.
We are really keen on our site for example to find some really good active able affiliates to sell hypnosis self development type products that are in demand by millions of consumers. Look at these titles: Supreme Self Esteem, Melt Stress, Think Yourself Thin, Enhanced Breast Enlargement, Snore Stopper, etc etc. AND they are all digital delivery. 50% commissions.
What could be better for an able pre-seller affiliate?
Why all this swimming in the same pond - ridiculous.
I agree - enough is enough. The game is up in Internet Marketing products for new entrants.
End of rant,

Hi Michael,
I’m opting out of 80% of the ‘newsletters’ I’m subscribed to also.
Why? Because most of them are not helping me with my online efforts. They are about “buy this, buy that from me, now, now, now!
You need this and you need it now!” It’s pretty much the same old same old same old stuff. If they do give away a freebie, it’s usually old hat junk. Most of the ‘gurus’ are not providing useful, helpful information. The ones that are, that I will stay subscribed to, are the newer, up-and-coming marketers who want to build their reputations and help new people make some money online. There are 1001 ways to make money online and I feel that a lot of the ‘gurus’ are not really telling us how they actually do it. They are saving that information for themselves. They are telling us to do X while they do Y. We are being misled, misdirected and herded like sheep towards the edge of the cliff. They’re creating a ’smoke and mirrors’ illusion of making money online. They tell us WHAT to do but not HOW to do it, or they leave out the critical How-To parts. Just because they say “everybody is doing this now” doesn’t mean it’s true, so don’t follow the herd. I’m sticking with the marketers that are truly helping me and dumping the rest. Oh, and for the record, I’m staying on your list, Michael.

93, yes 93 emails in my inbox this morning. Out of those 93, 28 were promoting the same product and all giving away “hundreds of dollars” worth of bonuses, if I bought off them. CRAP and more CRAP which I’m so pissed off with. I signed up for all these newsletters so I could learn from the best how to make a living on the internet, not to buy product after product (about £3000 so far, and yes I know I’m the daft one for doing so).
These so called Guru’s are just taking advantage of vunerable people desperate to make a living from home, just to fill their own bloody pockets.
Thank god for people like you Michael.
Regards,
Ken.

Hi Michael,
It’s interesting how these emails try to get your attention. Some of them start out as if they were against the marketer, but then towards the end of the email they ask you anyway to buy his product. It’s downright sneaky.
So, my favorite marketing word now is, “unsubscribe.”
Left by Dean Mapa on March 15th, 2007
Not only do all the emails selling the same thing make it easy to clean my inbox in a hurry, but the constant barrage of sales pitches helps to curb my spending impulses especially when you realize that most of the time, the product will become part of someone’s giveaway, membership site or bonus on the next item for sale.
Someone will copy it or put it in their own words etc…for less!
The silver lining for me is that I am becoming comfortably numb, cynical and slowing down my shopaholic tendencies which cause me to want to buy from every Vulture that knows how to prey upon everyone’s desire to find the “PotO’Gold” at the end of the rainbow!

Michael,
I feel your pain. If an Internet marketer promotes everything that comes along, they can not be testing or looking at them. They are selling out their list to make a buck. If you are trying to sell me something, show me what you have done with it and give me your honest review. It is getting much easier to hit that unsubscribe link! I don’t like signing up for a list just to get spammed!
Keep the honest opinions coming. Hopefully more people will jump on board and stop spamming their own lists.
Bob
PS
Yes I did get over 30 offers for a product just released. One offered a bonus worth over $8200.00. Do they think that we are stupid?

I just got back from being out of town for the last 2 days and saw that I had a higher than usual amount of emails waiting for my “edification”. I was astounded by the number of emails for that same product. If anybody was promoting something else in the same email they sent then I will never get to see it because as soon as I saw that one promotion “again” then all I did was delete, delete, delete. This was viral marketing to the point of requiring the Center for Disease Control. Proper email time management for an Internet Marketer requires a quick “look-see” then accept or delete. This one, in particular was wearing out my delete key. Because of it, I never looked at the product offering … too many other things to do.

There’s a signal-to-noise(S/N) … content-to-ads(C/A) … measurement that I use to justify subscriptions. Generally speaking, a S/N ratio _must_ be in the 20%-40% range for me to maintain subscription to any given list. Now, a S/N that low allows a *lot* of leeway for ads, ya know?
But in 2006 I had to drop the qualification range lower limit to 10%, or I’d have had to unsubscribe from almost every list I’m on. Even the _good_ ones, the supposed newsletters/ezine dropped below 20% after the butterfly emerged from its cocoon. ‘Twasn’t the butterfly alone, of course … there were several similar launches around that time. All the death knells (”Death of {AdSense|Email|Internet Marketing|[name your own subject]}) contributed.
Suddenly, everyone and their siblings were emulating the process w/o having any real understanding of it, in the hope that they might also emulate the flood of subscribers they supposed the others got.
Since then, ‘twould seem, a door has been closed … there appears to be no way to return to informative newsletters/ezines, nor to the occasionally informational posts from the non-ezine list owners.
There is a way to return, though - drop off the list(s). If you don’t like the rampant commercialism, if you don’t want it to get totally blanketing, another variant of spam, unsubscribe. If there is proviso for explaining why you opted out, use it.
(If you are afraid you might miss something, miss the next great thing in Internet marketing, you probably are not suited for Internet marketing .)
If enough do this, the prevailing marketers might begin to realize that relevant content applies to list owners as much as it does to Web sites.
(Michael, side note: you’ve mostly stayed on the high end of the S/N ratio .)
