Since the post about Brian’s http://www.adsense-images.com/ website ( which included my typing error - shame on me
) I was grateful to receive an email from a good friend of mine who raised a concern which may have also crossed the minds of others.
So with this post I hope we clear things up and thank you Dennis for bringing this up and sending me the link to Google’s blog post.
Google has a policy which applies restrictions when you place images near to AdSense ads on your web pages. If you would like to view their full opinion of this then please use the link below which will take you to their blog
http://adsense.blogspot.com/2006/12/ad-and-image-placement-policy.html
and here is my own understanding of their policy-:
If you place an image which lines up with an AdSense ad on your web page then that image should not be a visual representation of the product to which the AdSense ad is offering.
Basics - if you have an AdSense ad which leads to a website selling fruits then you cannot use an image of of fruits next to that AdSense ad. However, and this is what I like about Brian’s site, Brian has obviously done his homework here because the images used are not specific enough to breach Google’s policy but they are specific enough to compliment the Google AdSense ad they are next to on your site.
Remember, the above is only my opinion and I would encourage you to read the policy on Google’s blog for the full details
