How to update your Twitter account each time you add a new post to your blog.

Blog 2 Twitter is a WordPress plugin that will automatically make a Tweet to your Twitter account each time you make a new post on your blog.

There are similar plugins available for WordPress that post to your Twitter account from your blog but many of these have a common problem in that they will post to your Twitter while you’re updating or editing your current blog posts.

This looks really bad to yor Twitter followers as the get mass Tweets from you that all say the same thing: “I am currently updating my blog post called …..” and a link to the blog post.

You are guaranteed to annoy your Twitter followers who will unfollow you in a heartbeat.

So I made a plugin that will only Tweet about NEW posts on your blog and not each time you edit them or update them.

“Blog 2 Twitter” is an easy to install WordPress plugin that is just one single file that you upload to your WordPress plugins directory. Then just log in to your WordPress admin panel and activate the plugin.

Once it is activated simply go to the settings menu of your WordPress Blog admin panel and choose the “Blog 2 Twitter” plugin. You just then enter the username and password of the Twitter account that you want to update each time you add a new post to your blog.

And that’s it. Your Twitter deails are as safe as your your WordPress log in details as they are stored in the same database as your WordPress blog .

These guys have released quite a lot of software products and each one is pretty darn good, however, regardless of who’s name is on the box, I am always a little wary when a product ‘auto submits’ something. Just kind of smells ’spammy’.

But as this has Calvin and Jonathan stamped on it I thought it’s be worth a look.

The Best Time To Twitter Someone | Most Popular Time To Twitter

I am a raving   Twitter fan - I 100% love this social site that allows you to connect with more people, in real time, than has ever been possible before. From a social chat point of view, the site is great, cool, fantastic, brilliant.

But from a marketing point of view the site is ALSO one the THE best sites for making new contacts that can rocket you in to circles that you may never have been able to reach before.

It allows you to get your name/profile/business in front of the eyes that really matter - the people who can help you with your business.

There is one slight snag though…

With so many people Twittering it can make it difficult for your Tweets to be noticed especially if your Tweeting when the people you want to reach are not using Twitter. What you need to know is “What is the most popular time that they use Twitter”.

A difficult question to answer? No not really and you don’t need to have physic powers either. Thanks to a new Twitter app called “Tweet O’clock” you can find out the most popular time that any Twitter user is likely to be using Twitter.

Here is a screenshot of my Tweet O’clock times;

As you can see, the app will display a multitude of timezones so even though I am in the UK, you can see what the most popular time for my Twitter activity is in YOUR time zone which is a really good feature.

So go check this out and you’ll soon be able to stalk, err, sorry, I mean Tweet your favourite people.

In this article I’m sharing my cheat sheet for profiting from Twitter.

I want to share with you how to obtain joint ventures, meet people you can produce products with, get people to promote your products and jump start your business — all without forking over even a dime.

And you can do all of this starting 60 minutes from now — even if you don’t know anyone to start, even if you don’t have any sort of list to begin with, even if you’re a newbie, even if you’re a Mac user, even if you can’t attend seminars, even if ….

You get the idea.

By using Twitter, you will:

*  Meet people who have lists and can promote your product.

*  Meet people who have the know how to move your business forward.

*  Connect with people like you, so you don’t have that feeling you’re in this all alone.

*  Avoid the bickering, arguing junk that goes on in forums.

One thing I hate about forums is a few people post all the time and become power brokers — even if they’re obnoxious, don’t have any clue what they’re doing and so forth.

Forums also attract a lot of negativity.

Twitter is a totally different and refreshing experience.

I’ve officially been on Twitter hard core for a few weeks now.
I still have lots to learn.  But let me share the amazing things I HAVE discovered about it that can benefit you greatly and almost immediately.

==> You’ll meet and connect with wonderful people

I’ve met some really neat people I normally would have never connected with.

==> You’ll get to discuss things with people you might not know about them in other venues.

==> You can interact with a lot of people quickly.

==> Your Twitter list builds virally

People will retweet (explained below) things you say. This virally spreads your info through other people’s networks.

This is the most powerful aspect of Twitter.

Now, here are my best tips on getting the most out of Twitter.

1. Sign up at Twitter.com

That’s step one, of course. It’ll take you about 30 seconds.

2. Download Tweetdeck

It’s a freebie download for pc’s and Macs from Tweetdeck.com.
Tweetdeck will make your tweeting an unbelievable experience.

3. Keep the negative junk off Twitter

Don’t use Twitter to try to get that refund or resolve disputes.
The purpose is marketing.  Use it to bring positive energy and meet people.

People have asked me, “Marlon, why can’t I publish info if someone rips me off?”

The reason is because the PURPOSE of being on Twitter is to network with people who can promote your products for you.

When you complain about other people, it REPELS positive people, exactly the ones you are hoping to ATTRACT.

4. Follow people who are in your niche.

Go to Twitter.com. Click on “find people.”  Type in names of people who write blogs in your niche, who have affiliate products and who are influencers.

Click the “follow” link under their photo.  This will let you see their tweets with other people.

5. Make friends

Do NOT go onto Twitter pitching people. Make friends.  Be a sociable person.

6. Learn the art of the RT

RT stands for “retweet”.  There’s a little icon that says RT.
When you retweet someone’s messsage, you’re passing it on so the people on your list can see it.

This is the ultimate form of sharing. You give before you get.

Even if you only have 10 people on your list, use the RT.
But watch how others do it first. Don’t just jump in.

7.  Observe for a week

Spend a week or so just watching others and learning what happens on Twitter before you jump in head over heels.

8.  Anything and I do mean anything you say can and will be retweeted.

It’s crazy.  People RT things you wouldn’t think they would.
So be aware that anything you say can be spread.  So be very cautious about saying anything negative about anyone.

9.  Share your positive energy

I said this before. But I’m going to repeat.  Positive energy attracts other positive people.

10. Give first

Do NOT ask people to promote you or your product.  GIVE first.
Offer to promote THEM!

How?  I don’t know.  Be creative.  Think of something. Anything.
Even if it’s just republishing their article on your blog.  Or retweeting them.

Let me repeat — give first.  Offer to promote others first.
By law of reciprocity many will give back to you.

The #1 mistake people make is to ASK before they give.

11. If someone really annoys you, you can go to twitter.com, find their name and on the right side is link where you can block them.

12. Go to associateprograms.com and search for affiliate programs in your niche market.  Find the names of the product creators and look ‘em up on Twitter.

People who have products with affiliate programs also have lists.  Make friends with ‘em.  Do something to promote their product and tell ‘em about it. That WILL get a response in most cases.

13. Offer viral ebooks and reports on Twitter.

Instead of blatantly promoting your product, it’s better to offer a little report or ebook with a decent chance of others retweeting it.

Use Twitter to PULL more than to PUSH. This is PULL marketing.

14. When you run across a cool web site or resource tweet it to your list.

15. Do NOT send a lot of messages without the @ symbol.
You want to send most of your messages to individuals using the @ symbol.

16. Go out of your way to promote others to your Twitter list. They’ll reciprocate some time in some way.

17. When you find a good blog post on someone’s blog, pass it along to your Twitter list.

This endears you to the blog owner.  Even if they aren’t on your Twitter list, there’s a decent chance word will spread back to ‘em.

This IS the age of instant communication.

18. Learn to Twitter on your iPhone or cell.  Yes, you can do that too.

19. Understand that in the big picture your goal is to find people who have lists and can promote your products then make friends with ‘em.

That’s your ultimate objective.  But you don’t get there by ramming your product down people’s throats.  You get there by being an ATTRACTIVE PERSONALITY that others gravitate to.

It helps if you pass along cool resources and on occasion say things that are profound or retweetable.

20. Inspire others to go for it and pursue what they know they should pursue but don’t have the courage to do it.

Be a cheerleader for people’s highest and best interests.

21. Use Twitter strategically to meet and network with list owners.

Do NOT end up twittering away time you really should be using to create products or do other promotions.

Use Twitter.  Don’t let it use you.

This is the page I’ll be analyzing in this email:

That is my new squeeze page.  Here are the secrets:

1.  The graphic design was done by Darren at graphicsgenie.com.
But Danny my in-house designer tweaked it up quite a bit.  I found some sample designs I liked and gave Darren theses as a guide.  I don’t like asking people to create in a vacuum.

2.  We did the video in house.  I show HOW we do this in one of the bonuses of Promo Dashboard. I show our whole video set up.

a.  You need a white or black muslin background.  This only costs $40 or so.

b.  You need tripod holders.  Not expensive.

c.  You need 2 soft lights.  Under $400.

3.  You need someone to edit the video in “After Effects”
That is what does all the cool effects to video.  You can find someone on Craigslist or Elance for that.

4.  You need a hot title that will make people WANT to join.

5.  We tried to go with the larger web 2.0 style submit button and other web 2.0 elements. I borrowed a few ideas from Daegan’s recruitlikecrazy.com page.

6.  We filmed a “walk on” video for the thank you page to get people to confirm.  Danny edited this in After Effects.

7.  After you confirm your email, you get a pitch for our $1 trial on the Ateam. We’ll see how this converts.  I think the sales letter probably needs work.  I haven’t really focused on it a lot.

8.  I put the “bypass squeeze” there for our customers.  When I roll this out, I’ll split test with and without that.

9.  We used one of the wrong video chunks in the video.  I filmed an intro that said “How I SOLD a million dollars” vs. “How I made”
and that is the one I WANTED to use.  That was mis-communication with Danny and we have to now spend valuable time to fix it.  The word “made” implies 1 million in net assets in the bank.  I’m not that good of a saver!

10.  If I can convert raw traffic at $1 a click I’ll roll this out to cpa networks using Mike Hill or Tom Bell and Jim Lillig.

However, instead of the $1 trial, I’ll need something that is a bigger ticket with forced continuity.  I have work to do there.

11.  The ebook itself tells a lot of my story and has GREAT photos!

13.  We put an OTO at the end of the ebook. I have NO idea if that will convert or not. We’ll see.

14.  What I HATE is that my good friend Ewen Chia had a similar title on his ebook he launched close to the same day as mine. His is for sale.  It’s a GREAT ebook and contains totally different content.

One of the things that happens is the universe kinda releases an idea and people tap into a mass consciousness or something like that.  You’ve heard how other people had written songs very similar to Mozart, etc.

It’s hard when your friends are in the same biz and sometimes your ideas are very close or overlap.  I’ve worked on this ebook, video and design for 3 or 4 months. So it’s just coincidence we hit the same point around the same time. Sucks though.

I hope this gives you ideas and inspiration for creating your OWN squeeze page.

Delete 10 Facebook friends, get a free Whopper

Facebook’s developer platform has been used for a zillion marketing campaigns so far, but this one is actually dead-on hilarious.

Fast-food chain Burger King has created “Whopper Sacrifice,” a Facebook app that will give you a coupon for a free hamburger if you delete 10 people from your friends list.

Burger King has put out some interesting campaigns as of late (”Whopper Virgin,” “Subservient Chicken”), but this one piques our interest because of how gleefully it pokes fun at our social-networking obsessions. “Now is the time to put your fair-weather Web friendships to the test,” the Whopper Sacrifice site explains. “Install Whopper Sacrifice on your Facebook profile, and we’ll reward you with a free flame-broiled Whopper when you sacrifice ten of your friends.

The funniest part: The “sacrifices” show up in your activity feed. So it’ll say, for example, “Caroline sacrificed Josh Lowensohn for a free Whopper.” Unfortunately, you can’t delete your whole friends list and eat free (however unhealthily) for a week. The promotion is limited to one coupon per Facebook account.

THE star of popular Disney show Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus, has had her Twitter account suspended on Wednesday after it was hacked into.

Poorly spelt and offensive messages about her sex life littered her Twitter site.

Twitter is a service which people can sign up for free to update others about their activities to the moment. Other people can subscribe to your Twitter feed to be informed about what you are doing.

This is the latest online hacking incident involving the daughter of American country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus.

Last year, someone broke into her e-mail account and posted candid pictures of her on the Internet.

Senior technology consultant at security firm Sophos Graham Cluley commented: ‘It appears that Miley didn’t learn the lesson last year and hasn’t been taking enough care over her password security.

Cybercriminals were always hot on the heels of new internet trends, and with ‘tweeting’ so hot lately, it was no surprise hackers had realised its potential, he said.

Singer Britney Spears and United States president Barack Obama also had their Twitter accounts hacked into in January.

This was a result of Twitter’s own technical system being compromised by cybercriminals.

Mr Cluley advised other users to choose strong passwords that are not easily cracked so they can ‘avoid the same fate’.
